Elon Musk's transgender daughter has filed a request to have her name changed in accordance with her new gender identity and because “I no longer live and do not want to be related to my biological father in any way, in any form,” according to Reuters .

A petition for a name change and a new birth certificate reflecting her new gender identity was filed with the County Superior Court Los Angeles to Santa Monica in April. This was recently reported by some online media.
Former Xavier Alexander Musk, who recently turned 18, California's age of consent, asked the court to change her gender recognition from male to female and register her new name , according to court documents available online at PlainSite.org.
Her new name has been edited into an online document. Her mother, Justine Wilson, divorced Musk in 2008.
There has been no further explanation for the rift between Musk's daughter and her father, head of Tesla (TSLA.O) and SpaceX, who is trying to take over the $44 billion social media platform Twitter (TWTR.N).
In May, about a month after the name and gender change was filed, Musk declared his support for the Republican Party, whose elected representatives support a series of laws restricting the rights of transgender people in states across the country.
Musk has spoken out about transgender choice of preferred pronouns, tweeting in 2020: “I absolutely support transgender people, but all these pronouns are an aesthetic nightmare.”
