Emergency regulation: what are the next critical days for the Alès hospital ?

Les urgences seront régulées au moins durant trois nuits cette semaine. Midi Libre – ALEXIS BETHUNE

The hospital management, due to the lack of available doctors, always sets up regulation periods to avoid too much congestion in its emergency department.

The regulations continue again and again in the emergency department of the Alès hospital.

After previous periods on Friday 16 and Saturday 17 January, the hospital management indicates that the next three days will once again be impacted by the lack of doctors in the department. The emergency services will thus be regulated over the next three nights: from Monday 16 January 10 p.m. to Tuesday 21 January 8:30 a.m., from Tuesday 21 January 10 p.m. to Wednesday 22 January 8:30 a.m. and from Wednesday 22 January 5:30 p.m. to Thursday 23 January 5:30 a.m.

As a reminder, three doctor positions are currently vacant in the emergency department, following a retirement, a sick leave and an absence for maternity leave. The management had indicated that it had launched the recruitment procedure at the end of 2024.

Reminder of the instructions for patients

As in previous periods of regulation, the hospital center asks patients to call 15 as a priority to explain their situation and confirm whether a trip to the hospital is necessary. The public who have not been subject to regulation will still be received. The procedure does not concern the reception of pregnant women and gynecological emergencies, which are provided 24 hours a day. Vital emergencies also remain provided 24 hours a day by the SMUR of Alès.
