The Beijing BJ40 is reminiscent of the famous Jeep Wrangler in its design. The car is prepared for serious off-road – it has increased ground clearance, underbody protection and huge tires.
The new Beijing BJ40 Kekexili Edition was presented in China. The frame SUV from the BAIC concern will go on sale at a price of 280,000 yuan ($39,000). This is reported by the site CarNewsChina.
Kekexili Edition is an extreme version of the new Beijing BJ40 2022, designed for the most severe operating conditions. They named it after the highland region of China, Kukushili, known for its impassability and cold climate. The SUV will become a more affordable alternative to the Jeep Wrangler and Land Rover Defender.
Beijing BJ40 looks like a Wrangler, although it is not an exact copy. In the Kekexili Edition version, the car has increased ground clearance (up to 250 mm) and has off-road tires 285/70 R17 in size. He received powerful steel bumpers, a winch and underbody protection. Additional optics and a roof rack also appeared.
The interior of the Beijing BJ40 has not changed much, but wear-resistant materials have been used in the decoration. In addition, a socket appeared in the trunk. The equipment includes a virtual instrument panel, climate control, electric drive and heated seats.
The Chinese SUV is equipped with a 2.0-liter 224-horsepower turbo four and an 8-speed robotic gearbox. He received an additional 75-liter gas tank and a tank for drinking water. The all-wheel drive of the car is supplemented with a reduction gear and differential locks.
