A collision between a sport utility vehicle and a pickup truck on Tuesday morning on Perron Boulevard East in Sainte-Anne-des-Monts resulted in one victim. This is 60-year-old Daniel Lévesque, a local resident.
In all likelihood, one of the two drivers would have entered Route 132 from a perpendicular road, but he would have done so without ensuring that the lane was free, explains the spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec, Claude Doiron.
We know that the driver of one of the two vehicles entered the road by cutting the way to a vehicle that was already traveling, so we are talking about a side impact, specifies the sergeant Doiron.
The driver of the van, following his transport to the hospital, is unfortunately deceased, adds the spokesperson for the SQ.
Another person was in the van, but reportedly suffered only minor injuries.
In the other vehicle was a man with two children on board . They also only have minor injuries on their side, but they were still transported to the hospital centre , explains Claude Doiron.
A reconstructionist in an accident was dispatched to the scene of the collision in order to shed light on the events.
The Sûreté du Québec investigation is ongoing.
