Florent Pagny is back in the show The Voice on TF1. He spoke to Tv Magazine about this unexpected return. “I surprise myself. Only fools don't change their minds and I try to be as smart as possible. The production offered me to come back this season when I had rather considered a return next year for the 15th anniversary of 'The Voice.'”

The interpreter of Savoir Aimer feels at home in the team. “I know the teams well, they are the same people since 2011 and I enjoy working with them. When I come back and go into my dressing room, I feel like I never left.”

Florent Pagny talks about his illness

At the end of 2021, Florent Pagny discovered that he had lung cancer. He was then a coach for season 11 of The Voice. “It's been a year and a half since my control tests good. I'm in good shape, I've recorded all the first steps of this new season. Afterwards, if something reappears, I'll know what to do. I experienced it three years ago when it was the most serious and I still managed to finish what I had to do.” he explains.

For him, the disease cannot stop him in the professional field. “I had just changed I was a little different in appearance. I saw that I could be active despite the illness and the treatments even if it wasn't the most comfortable configuration. ” says the singer. “At no point did I let myself be eaten up by cancer. My mind has always taken over.”

The singer doesn't think about the illness

Florent Pagny wants to overcome the illness. “I didn't decide what happened to me, but it just happened to me. You have to be able to handle the situation and think about something else. And I never think about it, except when I have to go for my check-up X-rays. It's good to take some time for yourself to come back better. &Being active makes you alive.”

The Voice coach was already enjoying every moment of life before his illness.  “I've always lived everything to the fullest. I've even lived several lives to the fullest at the same time. This illness has never obsessed me, I don't think about it, I don't somatize on it, I've never spent nights telling myself what shit I'm in, I'm going to spend it. émentions the singer before diving back into his memories. “I had only one weird night after I learned I was sick. As soon as I had all the information, it was over. I knew there was a problem but I could still do a lot of stuff. So I did everything. Along with my treatments, I made a double album, I finished the tours, I did the reporting and I finished « The Voice ». I was lucky to have good periods of tranquility.”
