The Kremlin Speaker Dmitry Peskov said on December 12 that the traditional big press conference of Russian President Vladimir Putin, which was supposed to take place in December, would not take place before the New Year. This is reported by the agency “RIA Novosti”

According to him, the Kremlin expects that Putin will still find an opportunity to communicate through the media.

“As for the big press conference, yes, there won't be until the New Year. However, we expect that after all the president will find an opportunity to communicate, as he does regularly, including during trips abroad,” Peskov said.

It is worth noting that the cancellation of this event occurred for the first time in 10 years. Since 2001, Putin has been holding a big press conference on the eve of the New Year, which was not held only from 2009 to 2011, when he served as prime minister of the Russian Federation. But this year, apparently, “Putin's communication with the people” will not take place. According to the Russian “RBC”, it is likely that the big press conference will be postponed to 2023.

“We need to clarify the message. We will still be guided by the message,” the speaker said.

< p> Vedomosti journalists noted that Peskov had previously repeatedly said that there were no exact dates for Putin's message yet, since it depends on the schedule of the Russian president, which he described as “very dynamic.” However, he later confirmed the information that preparations for the press conference and message had already begun.

According to the Institute for the Study of War, President Vladimir Putin is losing trust and support from influential figures and veterans in the ranks of the militants of the so-called “LDNR”. Analysts noted that the fall in trust ratings is due to the fact that Putin's army is not able to win a military victory in the Donbass.
