The organizers of the Venice Film Festival presented a new poster: for the first time in of the story, the lioness became the symbol of the event instead of the lion.

The poster was created by the Italian artist Lorenzo Mattotti. 90 years later, the Venetian lion, which was the symbol of the film festival, has turned into a lioness that flies through history with energy and ease, becoming a symbol of hope, rejection of aggression and cruelty, — stated the artist.

The Venice Film Festival is celebrating its 90th anniversary this year. The review will be held from August 31 to September 10. This year's jury will be chaired by actress Julianne Moore. The film festival will open the film “White Noise” directed by Noah Baumbach, in which the main role was played by actor Adam Driver. The full program of the film festival should be announced today, July 26.

Earlier it became known that this year the Venice Film Festival would not receive a Russian delegation because of the military special operation of the Russian Federation in Ukraine. However, an exception will be made for individual filmmakers from Russia who publicly condemn the special operation.
