For a record-breaking race, the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 has been modified by specialists from the Hennessey tuning studio. The power of its engine was raised to 1200 hp. with.
An unusual speed record has been set in the US. Ford Mustang with a Christmas tree on the roof has developed 310 km/h. The video of the race was published on the official Youtube channel of the Hennessey Texas studio.
It was Hennessey who performed the tuning of the Ford Mustang, which was used to break the record. The already strong Shelby GT500 with a 760-horsepower compressor V8 with a volume of 5.2 liters was taken as a basis.
After refinement, the engine develops 1200 hp. with. and 1227 N∙m. The increase in power was not superfluous, because the Christmas tree on the roof significantly worsened the aerodynamics of the Ford Mustang.
The record was set by Hennessey engineer Spencer Geswein. The ride video was stylized as The Grinch Stole Christmas. One of the Hennessey employees dressed up as a fairytale character, tried to steal a Christmas tree and placed it on the roof of a Ford Mustang Shelby GT500. However, the Texas Santa Claus in a cowboy hat saved the holiday.
This is not the first such record from Hennessey – races with a Christmas tree on the roof have already become an annual tradition. So, last year the tuned Audi RS6 developed 295 km/h. A new achievement is already planned for Christmas 2023, the Hennessey Venom F5 supercar with a Christmas tree will be accelerated to 320 km/h.
