Ryan Dorsey is confident that Nai's death could have been prevented.
Four months ago, Choir star Naya Rivera drowned in a lake while swimming. She went on vacation with her son and suddenly disappeared. The boy was found alone in the boat, his mother was searched for several days. As a result, Rivera's body was found in the lake. Nai's relatives said that she swam well, so the reason for the death of the actress remains a mystery to many. No prohibited substances or alcohol was found in Rivera's blood.
Recently, Nai's ex-husband Ryan Dorsey, on behalf of their common son, Josie, filed a lawsuit against the Ventura County Water Conservation and Parks Authority. His statement said Nai's death could have been prevented. Ryan notes that the boat, which the actress rented for a walk with her son, was not equipped with the necessary equipment, as required by safety standards.
“The boat did not have a ladder, cable, anchor, radio or any other means of communication. A later inspection showed that there were no rescue devices in the boat at all. This is a direct violation of the law, ”says Dorsey.
In addition, he noted that nowhere in the vicinity of the lake there are signs warning of strong currents, poor visibility, changing water depth, underwater caves, strong winds, and so on.
Ryan stated that baby Josie experienced severe emotional stress due to the death of his mother, and also suffered significant material damage. The plaintiffs are seeking compensation in the amount to be established by the court.
