Former Rimouski MP Harold LeBel found guilty of sexual assault

Jury members have just found Harold LeBel guilty of the sexual assault charge against him.
The jury, made up of nine women and three men, was isolated since Monday 3:30 p.m. to reach a verdict.
Harold LeBel was arrested and questioned by police on December 15, 2020 for allegations dating back to October 2017, in his condo in Rimouski.
The former elected official has always maintained his innocence. It was at his request that his trial proceeded before a jury.
The identity of the complainant is protected by a publication ban.
