Four episodes of the Comedy series NBC “Studio 30” (30 Rock) to the end of the week will be removed from streaming services Hulu and Amazon Prime because of blackface (makeup that is used by comedians for their shows and was a caricature of a face of a dark-skinned person), and amid protests in the US after the murder of an African American George Floyd.
As reported by vulture, this decision was made by series Creator Tina fey, request by NBCUniversal.
“We believe that the scenes involving the actors changing race, it is best to withdraw from circulation. I apologize for the pain they caused. I thank NBCUniversal for the implementation of this request,” said fey in a statement.
In particular, from the third season episode deleted Believe in the Stars, and the fifth – Christmas Attack Zone, in which Jenna Maroney played by Jane Krakowski, darkens your skin. Also taken from the fifth season of the season series and Live Show of the sixth season episode Live From Studio H, the last of which guest star Jon Hamm makes a black face to parody the racist radio and television program.
As previously reported, the film “gone with the wind” will return to HBO’s Max with the academic review.
