Yohan et Léo Rossel, Pablo Sarrazin et Sarah Rumeau entament leur programme mondial cette semaine.
As the 93rd Monte-Carlo Rally gets underway, this Thursday late afternoon with three first “time trials” located between Dignes and Gap, these four form an unprecedented contingent. All from Gard, they are preparing to deploy their talents at the wheel of an identical Citroën C3 Rally2 and are starting this week the same ambitious program in the WRC2 world championship with the support of the manufacturer and the FFSA. In short, everything seems to bring together Yohan Rossel, Léo Rossel, Pablo Sarrazin and Sarah Rumeau!

While the doors to the supreme WRC1 category are slow to open, the driver from Saint-Jean du Gard is setting off again for a third consecutive campaign in WRC2. Like the two previous years, he is positioned among the main candidates for the world title and intends to take advantage of Monte-Carlo to add a first victory to his tally with his co-driver Arnaud Dunand. They achieved this last year, so we might as well hope to see history repeat itself!
In the Rossel family, Yohan and his brother Léo, two years his junior, find themselves for the first time teammates – and incidentally opponents – within the same team, the PH Sport team to which Citroën delegates the implementation of their program in the world championship.
For Léo, the reigning French champion, this is a new chapter in his promising career that is starting on the icy roads of Monte-Carlo. In a hyper-competitive context, he will now have to demonstrate the merits of his promotion to the next level and honour the confidence that the manufacturer with the chevrons has renewed in him. The proximity to his experienced older brother will inevitably help him in his discovery of world rallies as a duo with his co-driver Guillaume Mercoiret.
Another beginner at this level, Pablo Sarrazin underwent a lightning training course to get to this point. At only 19 years old, he has everything to discover about the world championship, but has a huge asset to progress quickly and well: the invaluable “background” of his champion father Stéphane, whose team is ready to take him to the top. Geoffrey Combe, her seasoned co-driver, is ready to accompany her.
Finally, for Sarah Rumeau, 29, it is also a brand new adventure that begins this week, within the same Sarrazin team. Coming out of a rather very successful season at the national level, the Alésienne and her co-driver Julie Amblard remain the standard-bearers of the Iron Dames operation in rallies. By accessing the world championship, Julie is following in the footsteps of a certain Michèle Mouton…
