Four injured in fire at Victoria Hospital in Winnipeg
A fire was quickly brought under control at Victoria Hospital in Winnipeg on Monday.
In Winnipeg, a patient and three staff at the Victoria Hospital ;Victoria General Hospital were injured in a fire. On the sixth floor, 21 patients were evacuated from their rooms and transferred to another area of the hospital.
Due to respect for patient privacy, the x27;Winnipeg Regional Health Authority (WRHA) indicated by email that they could not provide further information as to the nature of their injuries.
The fire started. x27;was declared Monday, around 10:20 a.m., and was quickly extinguished, not without causing damage.
The sprinklers went off, causing flooding and electrical problems, according to a statement from the WRHA.
The flooding and electrical disturbances affected a few floors of the hospital.
< p class="e-p">The WRHA expects patients to be able to return to their respective rooms shortly.
Victoria Hospital remains open for anyone with an appointment or seeking care s medical.
Visitors cannot enter the facility at this time, but visits are expected to resume Tuesday morning.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
