Ce vendredi soir, la 2e cérémonie de vœux conjointe à Lunel Agglo et Lunel a réuni plus de 860 personnes à la halle intercommunale
Words go away, images remain. This Friday evening, on the occasion of the second ceremony of joint wishes between Lunel Agglo and Lunel, the nearly 1,000 participants were amazed. At the dawn of his penultimate year in office, surrounded by his municipal team and 11 of his vice-presidents in Lunel Agglo, Pierre Soujol was able to prove, as never before, the realization of his wishes for the metamorphosis of the city and the transformation of the intercommunality.

Through videos, three major projects now launched have suddenly become reality: the future intercommunal aquatic complex, the next gerontological center of the hospital supported by the Regional Health Agency and the guinguettes of Lunel which will see the light of day by August 15 at the entrance to the canal. But, in the presence of an audience of representatives of local, departmental and regional political, military or administrative institutions, Pierre Soujol also wanted to add words to images.
First of all to assume the maintenance of this evening, somewhat criticized in recent weeks by its oppositions, in particular Lunel: “Through this ceremony we confirm our desire to unite the dynamics of the City and the Agglo to affirm their place in a central territory between two large metropolises. »
Life in the heart of Lunel
Then he stressed his desire to offer, through these wishes, “a moment of conviviality and also to report on the work accomplished.”
As last year, this exhaustive restitution of the actions carried out and the projects to come was done in two stages. Pierre Soujol first spoke about Lunel. Welcoming the fact that “the perception of our city has evolved again in a positive way in 2024” , the mayor insisted on the realization of the 2nd act of the “Metamorphosis 2030” project with the inauguration, last September, of the Cours Péri. “Making the historic heart attractive and giving it new life remains our objective” , hammered home Pierre Soujol, announcing “an additional milestone next summer with a rehabilitated Place des Martyrs that will host our market.”
Projects to improve the living environment
In the process, the president of Lunel Agglo was not left out in praising the policies implemented in a territory that he wants “dynamic and welcoming.” Pierre Soujol listed one by one the projects launched in terms of personal services (future aquatic complex, house of integration and solidarity, early childhood relay, intercommunal leisure center in Entre-Vignes), economic development (future house of the economy, Dardaillon activity zone) and ecological transition (Lunel-Lunel-Viel cycle path, waste reduction). They all have the same objective, he said: “Improving the quality of life.” Before concluding, the president of Lunel Agglo did not fail to point out that “the actions carried out by the intercommunality are also part of “fruitful and harmonious relations with neighboring communities”, welcoming, in particular, the work with the president of Montpellier Métropole Mickaël Delafosse and Stéphan Rossignol, the mayor of “the beautiful seaside resort of La Grande-Motte.”
