FTHB: at the red lantern Angers and its goalkeeper in a state of grace, the leader from Frontignan never trembled

Spread the love

Nathy Camara and his team are in full swing. – Jérôme Belluire.

Having given away too many gifts, the Angevins have never been able to compete with the leader from Frontignan.

Traveling to last place when you are the leader is not always as easy as you might think. That is also why Guillaume Crépain and Joris Machard were particularly keen to put their troops “on alert” before what could have looked like a trap match against an Angevin team that had changed coaches two weeks earlier.

The technical sheet

Half-time: 15-20.

ANGERS: Santos 20 saves, Marmousez.
Balesme (2 goals), Quintallet (1), Valentin (1), Martinais, Laguillaumie (3), Abdelhak (2), Ghoul (5), Corcher (2), Manebard (7 including 2 7m throws), Tabanguet (1), Decroix (2), Gillot-Pierre, Sorin, Zaatir (1).

FRONTIGNAN: Diot (6 stops), Pages (8 stops).
Duchaussoy (2 goals including 1 7m throw), Paul, Isnard (2), Camara (7), Leon (4), Magro (1), Laurens (1), Tesio (2), Abodogo (1), Gaillard (9), Delrive, Lignieres (7).

Wary and diligent, the Frontignanais finally avoided the Angevin pitfall without much difficulty. Well helped, it is true, by the locals. Authors of nine lost balls and two shots that went wide in the first 30 minutes alone, the Angevins actually went into the locker room at half-time with a five-goal deficit.

Gaillard and Lignères a notch above

And the bill could have been much higher if Santos had not made nine saves. With 20 goals conceded in the first half alone, SCO nevertheless confirmed the porosity of its defense while the visitors found solutions on the back base.

In particular thanks to the arm Guénolé Gaillard, six goals in the first half. Same causes, same effects. Having been too generous (seven lost balls and two shots that went wide) in the second half, the Angevins saw the Frontignan team, whose game was otherwise very polished, widen the gap by relying this time on the efficiency of Jules Lignères and Nathy Camara.

If Lima, who continued on his momentum and brought his total for the evening to 20 saves, nevertheless allowed his team to avoid a total shipwreck of his team, the essential was done for Frontignan who already has his eyes turned towards the trip to Sélestat. Certainly another pair of sleeves.
