In the Polish city of Katowice, on the night of October 29, a 25-year-old man stole a tram from a depot. He reached another city of Chorzow and picked up passengers along the way, writes the Polish edition of Polsat News.
The man was riding tram number 33, it was in Chorzow that he was noticed by another tram driver, who was suspicious of the speed of the ride and the fact that there was no route of this number in the city.
The authorities were informed about the theft of the tram. Specialists remotely cut off electricity in the area of the market square in Chorzow. Thanks to this, the stolen tram stopped.
Manufactured tram Pesa company, which was stolen by a man, is worth about 150 thousand dollars. It was left at the Katowice-Zavodzie depot due to repair work, the PAP agency noted.
Tram hijacker in Poland detained
The police arrived at the scene, at the time of the arrest the hijacker was sober. He did not have a driving license.
Currently, the man is in the police detention center, where he is being interrogated. It is established how the man managed to steal the tram.
A man during interrogation said that his father was a tram driver and he also dreamed of driving this transport, adds the newspaper Wiadomosci.
“In During the investigation, the criminal department will explain how the man got an access card that allows you to start the tram,” the police said.
Initially, he was charged with creating a danger of an accident on land transport and burglary. The man was arrested for 3 months, but he could face up to 8 years in prison.

And in the Dutch city of Utrecht, a four-year-old child stole a car from his mother. The kid woke up in the morning, started the car and crashed into cars standing nearby.
