The universe of The Boys expands further with Gen V, a teen series that promises to be rather trashy and which has just unveiled its first images.

The Amazon Prime Video series The Boys recently came to kick the huge anthill of works based on superheroes. Innovative, quirky and above all good gore, the series created by Eric Kripke and based on the comics by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson is a real phenomenon.

If The Boys has ever had a spin-off with the small pleasureThe Boys: Diabolical, an anthology animated series whose episodes have served to enrich the mythology without all having a connection with the original series, a new spin-off is preparing. The year 2023 will be busy for Amazon since season 4 of The Boys should arrive, accompanied by Gen V, a teen series taking place in a university reserved for young superheroes. Judging by the first Gen V teaser, this new spin-off looks just as gory as The Boys.

At the Godolkin University School of Crimefighting, run by Vought International (the company that founded the Seven), empowered young adults do it all to be the best. According to the synopsis, the school is there to test these people full of hormonesand tenfold competitive spirit, ready to do anything to win the most interesting contracts.

Blood, tears, intestines and cries, while the teaser doesn't say much about the plot of the series, it does set the tone. Forget Gen Z, Gen V looks even scarier. The spin-off is overseen by Craig Rosenberg, producer and screenwriter of The Boys, and the duo Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters, screenwriters of Agent Carter. Seth Rogen is a producer on the show alongside Eric Kripke.

While some actors from The Boys are back, including Jessie T. Usher, Colby Minifie and P.J. Byrne, the cast is mostly made up of new faces such as Jaz Sinclair, Lizze Broadway, Chance Perdomo and Maddie Phillips. No specific date has been announced, but Gen V will arrive on the Amazon Prime Video platform in 2023.
