The Georgian authorities decided not to resume passenger flights from other countries and not to open the land border with neighbors from 1 July, as scheduled. It is reported BAGNET, referring to the edition “Georgia Online”.
June 25 after the government meeting Minister of economy Natia Turnava said that the resumption of flights “will have to wait until the end of July,” despite the interest in attracting foreign tourists.
“The restoration of regular flights in the first place depends on the epidemiological situation in the rest of the world. We want to see regular flights have resumed, but the priority is the health of the people.”
Due to the difficult epidemiological situation in neighboring countries – Azerbaijan, Armenia, Turkey and Russia – the Georgian government also decided to August 1 to postpone the opening of land borders. The movement through the land transmission is allowed only for truck drivers.
