Gunshots Brussels: two dead, the suspect on the run

Two people were arrested. killed by gunfire early Monday evening in Brussels, and the suspect is on the run, indicated à AFP the public prosecutor's office in the Belgian capital.

The federal prosecutor's office, in charge of terrorism cases, was carrying out checks on possible terrorist motivation.

According to a video broadcast on the website of the Flemish newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws, the shooter in the jacket fluorescent orange who was traveling on a scooter fled after using an automatic weapon, which he shouldered to fire at least four shots.

The events occurred near Place Sainctelette, in the northern districts of the Belgian capital.

Police were alerted shortly after 7:00 p.m. (5:00 p.m. GMT).

A security perimeter has been installed.
