Pour le compte de la 10e journée de N1 féminine, l’Usam Nîmoises a remporté une large victoire devant l’OGC Nice, dimanche, et s’est rassurée après une prestation guère aboutie devant Thuir.

Usam Nîmoises won their 10th victory on Sunday, January 19 and remain at the top of group 4.

Nice made a better start, but goalkeeper Degermann, with three successive saves, left her team in contact. Nîmes took the score for the first time in the 8th (4-3) and never let it go again.

A great start to the second half

Nice scores the first goal of the second half but it is the Nîmes women who pull off a cannon-stop comeback, with an 8-2 victory in less than 9 minutes (24-13).

The change of goalkeeper for the Azuréennes slows down the success of the Gardoises, who take advantage of the opportunity to rotate. Despite further failures, Nîmes continued with rapid counterattacks with Artaud and left Nice ten lengths behind, the score swelling until the final whistle (32-17).

A satisfied coach

“We played a good game in defense and collectively, also, in attack, the distribution goals shows it, analyzes the Nîmes coach Antoine Soulier. This match is good for us after a difficult success in Thuir. We put in the ingredients we wanted. This victory is important before our next matches in the Coupe de France, one of our objectives, and the derby against Montpellier.”
