More than three days after their arrest in an AirBnb rental in Sète near the hospital district, the three suspects implicated in drug trafficking were brought before the Montpellier prosecutor's office on Tuesday, January 28, at the end of their police custody.

Cannabis, ecstasy and handgun in the apartment

The case dates back to Friday, January 24. The owners of the premises noticed the presence of suspicious objects in the apartment that they thought they had rented to a woman. In particular, they noted the presence of pills, cannabis and a handgun. Surveillance was set up by the Sète police. The three suspects were arrested around 5 p.m. and taken into custody. Investigators discovered a car key in the rental. It led them to a stolen car, with plates themselves stolen from the Montélimar area. According to our information, the weapon had also been stolen a year ago in Montpellier.

From Puy de Dôme

In police custody, for a period of more than three days under the special regime related to drug cases, the accused, from the Puy-de-Dôme area, admitted to some of the facts (possession of 50 g of cannabis and 30 g of ecstasy). Explaining that they regularly sold drugs and that to get away from “some worries” near Clermont-Ferrand, they moved closer to Sète. However, they denied any connection with the stolen car and weapon.

Brought before the Montpellier prosecutor's office on Tuesday, January 28, they were placed in provisional detention pending immediate trial for drug trafficking, possession of a weapon and criminal association.
