This Friday, January 24, a woman gave birth to a baby girl in the street in Saint-Just-Saint-Rambert, in the Loire. Her husband, present with her at the time of the incident, was able to guide his wife thanks to the advice given by the firefighters over the phone.

She was in her car and heading to the hospital to give birth. But, according to France 3, the baby decided to show up earlier than expected this Friday, forcing the young woman to give birth in the street in Saint-Just-Saint-Rambert (Loire). Her husband, who was with her, then took matters into his own hands, calling for help straight away. However, the emergency was such that “the operator of the emergency call center of the Loire firefighters had to reassure the future father and have him perform remote-controlled gestures to achieve the delivery before the emergency services arrived”, the firefighters told France 3.

The young father was then able to perform the right actions thanks to the firefighters and successfully complete the delivery. When help arrived, the mother and the newborn were transported by the Smur of Saint-Étienne to the CHU Nord. The young mother and the little girl are doing well.
