Heavy police presence for barricaded person near hospital in Mississauga
Peel Regional Police have been deploying a large force since Friday morning near Credit Valley Hospital.
< p class="e-p">Peel police and crisis negotiators are responding Friday as a person allegedly barricaded themselves in Mississauga.
There is a heavy police presence near the corner of Eglinton Avenue West and Erin Mills Drive.
According to a series of tweets Friday morning, the incident is isolated and the situation remains active. In an update shortly after 1:30 p.m., law enforcement said they are in contact and continuing to negotiate with the individual who is alone. No injuries are to be deplored, according to them.

Police have closed nearby roads including Credit Valley Road, from Eglinton Avenue to Metcalfe Street. The Erin Mills Parkway, north and south of the Eglinton intersection, is also closed.
The public is asked to avoid the area.
The location of the intervention is next to Credit Valley Hospital, which has measures in place to ensure the safety of staff, patients and visitors. The hospital's surface parking lot is currently closed.
Vehicles inside the parking lot can exit, but no new vehicles can enter, according to a hospital spokesperson.
The hospital's emergency department is operating normally and ambulances are not being rerouted at this time, the spokesperson said .
