Today, the rumors are confirmed: Samsung will present its new products before the Olympic Games, since its Unpacked event is scheduled for July 10. Moreover, it is from Paris that this event will be broadcast around the world. This presentation will be important for Samsung, since its new products will be seen as competitors to the iPhone, Apple Watch and other products that Apple will launch in the fall. And while waiting for the event, we already have a small idea of what Samsung should unveil on July 10 in Paris.

The new folding smartphones

In recent years, Samsung has dominated the folding smartphone market. But, at the start of 2024, the Korean giant lost its leading position in this market. Indeed, Chinese manufacturers are offering increasingly interesting products. And Samsung has also lost market share due to Huawei's comeback in China. On its domestic market, Huawei is today able to offer folding smartphones compatible with 5G networks, despite American sanctions.

The presentation of Samsung's new folding smartphones will therefore be important, since these models should allow the Korean giant to regain first place in this segment of the smartphone market. Normally, Samsung should present the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Galaxy Z Flip6. In terms of design, recent rumors suggest that Samsung would reduce the thickness of the Z Fold6 compared to the 2023 model, and also make this model more durable. As for Galaxy Z Flip6, it would benefit from improvements in the technical sheet. Note also that alleged images of these two smartphones are already circulating on the web.

Otherwise, there are also rumors suggesting that Samsung could also launch a model called Galaxy Z Fold6 Slim. It would be a very thin folding smartphone, which would rival the thinnest models on the market. Other sources indicate that Samsung would also be working on a model called Galaxy Z Fold6 Ultra, which would have a more advanced technical sheet than the standard model. But as usual, this information is not official and should therefore be considered with extreme caution.

Galaxy Ring

< p>As a reminder, Samsung has already announced the arrival of the Galaxy Ring, its very first connected ring. On the other hand, he has already released some information on this product. But for the moment, the Samsung ring is not yet available. Normally, the Korean giant should also take advantage of the Unpacked event to announce the prices and present the features of the Galaxy Ring.

In any case, by launching this product, Samsung will enter into competition with the company Oura, which is currently the benchmark in terms of connected rings. Normally, the Galaxy Ring would offer health and wellness tracking features, on a more discreet product than watches.

New for Samsung watches

Normally, Samsung should also take advantage of the Unpacked event on July 10 to announce new connected watches. Rumors suggest that compared to the previous generation, Samsung's new smartwatches (the Galaxy Watch 7 series) could feature sensors capable of measuring the user's blood sugar (glucose level). This would be a technical feat, and a functionality that would make a huge difference, to the extent that these watches would therefore make it possible to know blood sugar levels, without taking blood. But here too, caution is required.

On the other hand, rumors suggest that Samsung could also present a competitor to the Apple Watch Ultra: a Galaxy watch with an even more advanced technical sheet, and an ultra-robust design. In any case, such a product would allow Samsung to offer a complete range to its customers. Indeed, the Korean giant already offers more affordable connected watches: the Galaxy Watch “FE”.

Even more AI at Samsung

Earlier this year, Samsung made a big impression by lifting the veil on Galaxy AI, a series of features based on generative artificial intelligence that is available on its high-end smartphones. And the Korean giant should continue to rely on AI to promote its products, especially after the presentation of Apple Intelligence in June. Samsung has also launched a version of Galaxy AI for connected watches.

Will the augmented reality headset finally be revealed ?

In 2023, Samsung announced a collaboration with Google and Qualcomm to develop an augmented reality product. But, unfortunately, this product is still not available today. However, we can still hope that Samsung finally lifts the veil on this headset on July 10 or, at least, provides news on this project.

  • Samsung is preparing a new Unpacked event, which will be broadcast on July 10 from Paris
  • The Korean giant will present its new folding smartphones, which has just been overtaken by Huawei in this segment
  • The Galaxy Ring, already made official by Samsung, but not yet available, should also be there
  • Samsung should also present its new connected watches, and currently, rumors are circulating about a model that would compete with the 'Apple Watch Ultra
  • We also expect Samsung to make new announcements related to artificial intelligence
