Scammed by a man pretending to be Brad Pitt, Anne, a 53-year-old interior designer, paid more than 800,000 euros to a stranger. After her testimony in Sept à Huit, a hacker managed to track down the person behind the scam.
He had made her believe for almost a year that he was Brad Pitt in order to get money from her. The scammer was identified thanks to Marwan, as revealed in a video on the channel Legend.
In a report on Sept à Huit, broadcast this Sunday, January 12, Anne recounted how she had been scammed by a man who pretended to be Brad Pitt. He sent her fake selfies, falsified documents and pretended to have an operation for kidney cancer. In total, Anne paid him no less than 830,000 euros.

Marwan, who founded a company to help victims of online scams, met Anne through the report that was made by Sept à Huit. He intervened to give his expert opinion and was then put in touch with Anne by the production, who claims that they will pay the fees. However, the latter “has no money”. However, Marwan still carries out the investigation.
His criminal from Nigeria
Marwan managed to identify the person behind this scam thanks to the banking information and the tracking of the money paid by Anne. He thus sent her a booby-trapped link and, once he clicked, Marwan was able to access her entire phone.
Thus, Marwan discovers that the man is from Nigeria and even goes so far as to find the GPS coordinates of his house. “In Anne's case, we found her scammers in Nigeria. We discover that this guy, in addition to Brad Pitt, was also pretending to be Keanu Reeves!” According to the hacker, the man allegedly made at least thirty victims by pretending to be Brad Pitt or Keanu Reeves.
The man should also be arrested. “He's going to be arrested in the next few days. We have great hope that she (Anne) will be able to get her money back, maybe not all of it but, in my opinion, a good part of it.” The money could be recovered, according to Marwan, thanks to the lawsuit that Anne has filed against her bank.
Anne, victim of cyberbullying
Since its broadcast, the sequence has been removed from TF1 platforms, due to a wave of cyberbullying that Anne is experiencing on social networks. According to Marwan, Anne has become the biggest celebrity impersonation scam victim in the world.
Netflix and the Toulouse football club had published posts about X mocking her supposed gullibility. TFC then apologized.
