What to feed the beet in June, July and August so that it pleases you with an amazing harvest? There are several types of mineral and organic fertilizers that make up the necessary feeding of beets in open ground in the summer, informs Ukr.Media.

It is necessary to feed beets several times in the summer: in this case, the yield will be high, and the fruits will be large and very tasty.

Each summer month corresponds to its root feeding of beets in the open ground. In addition, you can carry out several treatments of the vegetable with a solution of common salt.

How to feed beets in June?

Dilute the rotted manure in a ratio of 1:10. For every 10 liters of such a solution, add 20 g of potassium chloride. Use this solution to feed the roots of beets.

You cannot use fresh manure to process beets: its use causes the roots to become coarse, and nitrates accumulate in them. The plant's immunity to fungal diseases decreases.

What to feed beetroot in July

Beets need superphosphate for active growth. You can apply only it under the plant at the rate of 50 g per 1 square meter. m. But if you want to diversify the top dressing, then process the beets with a special composition. For this, 1 Art. l. kalimagnesia, 1 tbsp. l. superphosphate, 1 tsp. urea, 1/2 tsp. dissolve boric acid and 1 g of potassium permanganate in 10 liters of water. After fertilizing, sprinkle the interrows with ash and water with clean water.

During a rainy summer, beets may begin to wither due to a lack of nitrogen leached from the soil. At the first signs, treat the plant with a solution of 1 tsp. of urea dissolved in 5 liters of water.

How to feed beets in August?

Perform the last feeding of beets about a month before harvesting. To do this, apply superphosphate according to the same scheme as in July. But it is better to feed beets with a mixture of 1 tbsp. l. potassium sulfate and 3 tbsp. l. of superphosphate dissolved in 10 liters of water.

Additional feeding of beets in open ground

In order for beets to be tastier, three times during the season it should be fed with table salt at the rate of 15-20 g per 10 liters of water. The first salt feeding of beets in the open ground should be carried out after the formation of 6 real leaves, the second – when the root crop begins to rise above the ground, the third – two weeks after the second feeding.

This treatment will only suit beets and will be harmful to other plants, so make sure that the salt does not get into the neighboring beds.

When treating beets with a salt solution, it is better to combine root and foliar feeding . For convenience, use a watering can.

Treatment of beets with a solution of table salt helps to fight sodium deficiency, which is manifested by reddening of the leaves.

Between root dressings, it is advisable to additionally spray beets. For this, a solution with 1/2 tsp. boric acid, 1/4 tsp. iodine and 1 g of potassium permanganate diluted in 10 liters of water.
