How the “Deliveroo of medicines” caught the eye of Sanofi

Delivering medicines 7 days a week and 24 hours a day in more than 200 cities in France, this is the objective of the Nice startup Livmed's. This nugget, which some call ” Deliveroo of medicine “, has just announced the success of a fundraising of 5 million euros this Tuesday.

“ We n ain't lazy in the business”

Among the main investors, two names stand out in particular: Sanofi via its subsidiary Sanofi Santé Grand Public, and the world leader in container shipping based in Marseille, CMA CGM. This windfall is timely for the company, which plans to continue its expansion in France, before launching in Belgium and Switzerland, then in Spain and Germany.

On a daily basis, Livmed's 17,400 couriers on bicycles or electric scooters travel the roads of France to deliver home deliveries to individuals. However, the startup wants to distinguish itself from other players in “quick-commerce“, which have been much criticized lately.

Quoted by our colleagues from Nice Matin >, Talel Hakimi, president and co-founder of the company, says: “ We are not in the lazy business, insists the leader, we are aimed at people who cannot move because they are dependent, with disabilities, single parents, caregivers…  »

Similarly, while confidentiality is a major health issue, the company wants to be exemplary, and specifies Les Échos : “Patient medical data is encrypted and hosted on HDS servers, only pharmacists have access to it. The delivery people do not know the contents of the sealed packages..

Livmed's plans to hire fifty more

The secret of Livmed's is actually in its simplicity of use. The patient only has to choose a partner pharmacy on the mobile application or the website. He can then scan his prescription, his vital card, and mutual insurance, and that's it. It will be delivered at the price of 5 euros during the day, and 9.60 euros in the evening. Note that the startup is discussing with mutuals, and that some could soon cover this amount.

If the company refuses to communicate its turnover, the latter would currently be exploding with a multiplication by five in 2022, and an increase in orders of 600%. Under these conditions, it is easier to understand why such prestigious French companies have decided to bet on this nugget.

For the rest, Livmed's does not intend to rest on its laurels. The company, which currently has 49 employees, plans to hire fifty additional people by June 2023 in order to strengthen its presence in French pharmacies.
