A few days ago, it was Grok who praised (in his own way) artificial intelligence, the AI offered on the X network creating many images with very questionable ethics. And if the sacrosanct AI can be used for many purposes, it can also help athletes. No device to boost your running abilities this time, but an AI developed by SportAI, a start-up specializing in sports analysis.
SportAI, your new (virtual) tennis coach
At the helm of SportAI is Lauren Pedersen, a professional tennis player, whose tool dedicated to the little yellow ball is responsible for analyzing a player's movements and technique, before identifying these needs based on their playing style, but also their level.
The analysis is carried out in real time, and the AI then takes charge of providing valuable advice, to improve posture when serving for example, or even positioning on this two-handed backhand that too often ends up in the net.

“Using computer vision and biometric technology, we analyze a player's technique, for example his swing in golf, tennis or padel. We compare this technique to that of thousands of other players, including top professionals, and provide users with instant written and visual feedback to improve their performance” explains the Norwegian start-up.
A few days ago, the company raised $1.8 million in funding, including through Skyfall Ventures. Other participants include Norwegian pension fund MP Pensjon, Dekel Valtzer (former professional tennis player and founder of an AI startup) and Sverre Munck (former vice president of Schibsted). Magnus Carlsen, the highest-ranked chess player of all time, is also an advisor and investor in SportAI.
Note that the tool developed by SportAI can be used to boost performance in tennis, but also in padel or golf.
