How to Install iOS 18 Beta on iPhone Right Now

As promised by Tim Cook, the major iOS 18 update is available for download in developer beta. This update marks the entry of Apple products into artificial intelligence – under the name, Apple Intelligence.

Siri becomes significantly more practical: gains improved understanding, and above all much more flexible interaction, even if you don't quite know what this or that feature is called . It's also more capable with access to your apps that it can (finally!) control. Above all, Siri can connect to ChatGPT rather than presenting you with a web search that often has little connection to your request.

All these advantages are accompanied by a deep integration of generative AI into the operating system. Which allows you to always have Apple Intelligence alongside you, to help you write messages or to generate an image, for example.

We therefore offer you the procedure to follow to install iOS 18 in developer version, but also information on the arrival of the stable version or the conditions of access to this update.

Before starting, you need to check that your Apple/iCloud account is registered with Apple Developer Program< /em> by going to this page (all about the conditions a little further down). Then follow the steps below to enable developer mode on your iPhone:

  • Go to Settings > Privacy > Developer Mode and enable the option.

The rest is disconcertingly simple:

  • Go to Settings > Updates
  • Select iOS 18 Developer Beta from the drop-down menu
  • Make sure your phone is sufficiently charged, and start installing the beta

A large part of the new iOS 18 features, as well as the new (unexpected) icon and home customization options, are already available for download, in developer beta. Appe generally offers two beta channels to test its updates before anyone else.

Generally, a developer beta is offered in the wake of WWDC before the ’ arrival of a general public beta close to the launch of the next iPhone 16. the general public version of iOS 18 will be available after the famous presentation keynote.

S&amp ;#8217;it is possible to install the iOS 18 beta now on a normal iPhone we still advise you to be aware of the inconveniences of this type of test update. Many bugs can appear, as can your usual applications, some of whose functionalities may end up being 'broken'.

At least until they benefit from an update from their developer.

Some sources indicate that downloading this update is conditional on the purchase of a $99 annual subscription to the Apple Developer Program. According to our tests this is not the case… only free registration of your Apple account is enough to access this early preview.

Please note, however, that the author's iPhone was already on the iOS 17 beta updates channel before requesting this update.
