The affair continues to take on new twists and turns. The 47th President of the United States announced on Monday that the giant Microsoft was part of a group in a good position to buy TikTok, according to 7 out of 7.

“There's a lot of interest in TikTok, there's a lot of interest in TikTok. I like bidding wars because you get the best deal possible,” said Donald Trump. However, he declined to name the other contenders.

A possible acquisition as part of the US government's plan to prevent the Chinese app from disappearing. A law passed on January 19 banned the app in the United States before the new president, by executive order, reinstated the social network. As a reminder, in August 2020, when Donald Trump tried to ban TikTok from the United States, Microsoft joined forces with Walmart – a multinational retailer – to make a takeover bid for the platform. ByteDance had declined the offer.
