Spread the love

This Monday, January 20, 2025, Donald Trump officially succeeds Joe Biden and returns to the White House. But what does the Republican intend to do as soon as he takes office ?

This Monday, Donald Trump will take the oath of office and officially become the 47th President of the United States of America. During his campaign, the Republican announced many changes, in a policy totally different from his Democratic predecessor Joe Biden.

“Resolve each crisis”

Donald Trump assured again on Sunday evening, during his last rally at the Capital One Arena in Washington, that the measures taken would not be the least.

“I will act with unprecedented speed and force”, he said, in order to “solve each of the crises our country faces”. For this, the Republican can count on the support of his right-hand man Elon Musk. “This victory is truly the beginning. What matters is to make meaningful changes (…) and to lay the foundation for a strong America for a century, for centuries, for always”, said the boss of X on Sunday evening.

“The first day, the first week, the first hundred days will be love at first sight”, assured his advisor Stephen Miller, quoted by BFMTV.

But what will it be about ?

If the question of the war in Ukraine should soon be on the table, Donald Trump should act on immigration as soon as he takes office. “As soon as I am sworn in, I will launch the largest deportation program in American history”, he promised during his campaign.

More concretely, Joe Biden's successor could thus take multiple decisions such as declaring a state of emergency and calling on the military, all by simple decree.

Pardons for those convicted of storming the Capitol on January 6, 2021, could be among the other expected measures. Just like his sidekick Elon Musk, he also wants to tackle the “transgender delusion”, as he recalled very recently. “With a simple stroke of the pen, from day one, we will put an end to transgender delusion”, assured the president-elect, who promised to “exclude transgender people” from the military and schools, details BFMTV. “The official policy of the United States will be that there are only two genders, male and female.”

A hundred decrees

While Donald Trump's return to the White House delights many American voters, his comeback should not be without consequences. Through decrees, the Republican intends to act today. “These are decisions that do not have the force of law and that can be undone by his successor”, explains Alexis Pichard, a specialist in the United States at the television channel.

And these measures taken should be numerous. During the first 100 days of their presidency, Bill Clinton had taken 13, George Bush 11, Barack Obama 19. But according to information from Associated Press and Reuters, Donald Trump would have prepared nearly a hundred.
