Valentin Sylvestrov is a Ukrainian composer, People's Artist of Ukraine, winner of the Shevchenko Prize. The author himself calls his style “meta-music” (“metaphorical music”). The works are dominated by meditative, contemplative moods. The leading place is occupied by the appeal inherent in postmodernism to the styles of past eras.

Focus also wrote that the Ukrainian military played the violin on the front line. Musician Moisey Bondarenko performed the song Someone You Loved in the open air. Before the war, he studied in Kyiv, performed on the streets of the city and at corporate parties.
