Puffy is most popular in the Scandinavian countries and the USA.
A toy bear with a height of 174 centimeters and a weight of just over three kilograms with a male physique is a new proposal on the market for lonely female hearts, created by a business woman from Bulgaria Tonya Berdankova and her daughter Ina Markholeva for emotional support, Daily Mail writes.
Loving Bear Puffy, which is how its full name sounds, is a milky brown bear with a half-asleep expression worth $160. Made in the form of a man, it has rather strange proportions – the broad shoulders of a weightlifter and the tiny head of a soft toy. Puffy is stuffed with high quality polyurethane foam filler. There are fingers on his hands, and he himself is made so that he can be changed. You can cuddle up to it, take it by the hand with your fingers crossed or cry on your shoulder.
“It replaces the absence of a physical presence of a person, especially on long lonely nights,” the creators of the toy say.
The bear was created last year when Tonya was trying to figure out how to spend the summer without her husband Peter, who worked out of town all summer.
“My daughter joked:” Who will you hug? You'll have to come up with a replacement. Then this idea stuck in my head, I thought about it and that there are a lot of single women in the world for some reason, and they need some kind of physical presence, “Berdankova explained. According to the woman, her husband is understanding reacted to the appearance of a plush substitute.
“He knows that I like to hug something at night. We have one bear, and we all use it. When my daughter comes to us, we even argue who will get it for the night,” the author of the toy jokes.
At the moment, Puffy, whose production began on a large scale a few months ago, is especially popular in the Scandinavian countries and the USA, and the UK is not far behind. Such success is explained by the fact that the number of lonely people is growing in the world. According to the Office for National Statistics, almost a third of young people aged 20 to 34 live with their parents, slowly starting a family, and a 2019 survey found that up to 34% of adults still sleep with a soft toy.
< p> A rag substitute for a living person is not a new idea. Earlier, we talked about a Brazilian woman whose mother sewed a man out of cloth. The lonely woman liked the toy so much that she not only married her, but also “gave birth” to a child. True, recently there was a scandal in the “family”: the wife caught her rag “husband” cheating and now she is thinking what to do with him next.
