The new Hongqi S9 will be produced next to Ferrari and Lamborghini. The heavy-duty 1400-horsepower supercar is capable of reaching 400 km/h.

The FAW-Hongqi S9 supercar is being prepared for mass production. It will be produced not in China, but in Italy – for this, a new modern enterprise will be built in the Reggio Emilia region. This was reported by Reuters.

In early August, the Chinese concern FAW should allocate land for the plant. Initially, it was planned to open in early 2023, but due to delays it will not be possible to start production on time.

About a billion euros will be invested in the construction of the plant. The place for it was not chosen in vain – it will be located in the so-called “Valley of Supercars”. Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati and Ducati are located nearby.

Obviously, the decision to produce the Hongqi S9 supercar in Italy is not only a fashion move. In the “Valley of supercars” you can find qualified personnel for the enterprise.

The carbon car is equipped with a turbocharged petrol V8 and two electric motors with a total capacity of 1400 hp. With. It can accelerate to 100 km/h in 1.9 seconds and reach 400 km/h.

The price of Hongqi S9 will be 1.5 million dollars. A total of 99 cars are planned to be produced. After that, the Italian plant will start production of other electric and hybrid models, as Hongqi plans to expand its presence in Europe.
