In memory of the famous Ukrainian composer Miroslav Skoric Lviv national Opera will broadcast online his iconic works, which premiered at the theater.
It’s an Opera, “Moses”, first presented in 2001, and the ballet “the return of the butterfly” in 2006.
June 5-7 archival recording of these works by Myroslav Skoryk will be available for viewing on the YouTube channel of the Lviv National Opera the link.
Opera “Moses” on a libretto by Bohdan Stelmakh by the eponymous poem by Ivan Franko was created by order of the theater for the 100th anniversary of the Lviv Opera house. As told Myroslav Skoryk, he turned to the poetry of Ivan Franko and personal reasons – it was the dream of father of the composer. Premiere of Opera “Moses” was held on 23 June 2001 under the leadership of the author. Several premiere performances of the Opera were held during his stay in Lviv Pope John Paul II and the Holy Father blessed the entire creative team.
Premiere of the ballet “the Return of butterfly” by Myroslav Skoryk was held on 18 March 2006. The plot – the story of how Solomiya Krushelnytska saved after the debacle of the Opera “Madame butterfly” by Giacomo Puccini, singing the title role of CIO-CIO-San. And not only this history is embodied in the ballet language of dance. Psychological contrast embodies the history of the sisters of Salome – Nosy, which for the sake of love sacrificed the career of a singer for the Solomiya, devoted to art and Opera, was unacceptable. For a composer Myroslav Skoryk this story was directly related to his family, because Salome and Anna Kruszelnicka were sisters of his grandmother Helena.
Recall the famous Ukrainian composer, artistic Director of the Kiev Opera, Myroslav Skoryk, who died at the age of 81 years. June 3, in Kiev held a farewell to the famous composer. The lions will say goodbye to the composer Miroslav Skorik on Thursday, June 4, at the Cathedral of St. George. Skoryk was buried on 5 June at the Lychakiv cemetery in Lviv.
