In Russia, they started talking about a tribunal over Ukraine

To work on the formation ” tribunal” it is necessary to involve countries that “demonstrate an independent position on the Ukrainian issue,” Alexander Bastrykin believes.

The aggressor country Russia can organize its own “international tribunal” over Ukraine for its alleged “war crimes against the peace and security of mankind.” This was stated by the head of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, Alexander Bastrykin, in an interview with Rossiyskaya Gazeta, published on Monday, July 25.

Bastrykin immediately stated that “the creation of such a tribunal under the auspices of the UN in the current perspective is extremely doubtful.”

“It would be more appropriate to work out this issue with Russian partners in such organizations as the CIS, CSTO, BRICS, SCO. The establishment of the court and its charter could be formalized by an agreement between Russia, the member countries of these organizations, “Donetsk” and the “Luhansk people's republics”,” he said.

Bastrykin also believes that it is advisable to involve other countries that “demonstrate an independent position on the Ukrainian issue” in the work on the formation of an “international body of justice.” Among such states, he named Syria, Iran and Bolivia.

Recall that Ukraine plans to create a one-time international tribunal to try the top leadership of Russia, including the current President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.

Earlier it was reported that the International Criminal Court in The Hague has reasonable suspicions about the Russian troops falling under the jurisdiction of the court. The deadlines for filing the first charges have already been announced.
