A special device will alert you if there is a man with COVID-19
In Singapore began giving away the device to track contacts with Bluetooth as part of the measures to slow the spread of the coronavirus. The so-called tokens TraceTogether are an alternative to government app for tracking contacts on the smartphone, reports comments.ua.
The device is designed for people who not own or prefer not to use a mobile phone. The announcement of the device was met with concern in some quarters about confidentiality.
The first batch of devices distributed among the elderly who have little or no family support or have problems with mobility. Tokens have unique QR codes and do not require charging, as they have a battery life of up to nine months.
The devices work by exchanging Bluetooth signals with other neighbouring tokens or smartphones on which the application is running TraceTogether. Users will be warned by a staff member by contact tracing, if you find that they were sitting next to someone infected with the coronavirus. If it is confirmed that there is someone with COVID-19, data will be loaded from the device.
The government rejected the concerns related to the privacy of the users because the device is not intended to refer to movements of people. The government of Singapore said that the data collected by the devices will be encrypted and stored in the token not more than 25 days.
