American Miki Sudo set a new record for eating hot dogs among women, reports ESPN. She managed to eat 48.5 sausages in bread for 10 minutes.
Last year Miki Sudo managed to eat 31 hot dog, and its record to date was 41 sausage. So she managed to eat in 2017. She is a constant winner of the contest among women from 2014.
In women the previous record was 45 hot dogs. It was established in 2013, Sonya Thomas.
Men’s record set by last year’s winner Joey chestnut, nicknamed Jaws. He ate 75 hot dogs.
For his victory, chestnut and Sudo will receive 10 thousand dollars in prize money each.
The first contest eating hot dogs for speed took place in 1916. Then the Irishman Jim Mullen had eaten 13 of frankfurters in 12 minutes. Since the contest was held regularly and was interrupted only during the Second world war.
