Ukrainian all-terrain vehicle “Tornado” is able to overcome meter barriers and float on water. It was equipped with an economical 2.4-liter turbodiesel.
Production of all-terrain vehicles “Tornado” has started in Poltava. Two such vehicles have already been assembled for the most extreme conditions. This is reported by the site “Poltava”.
The all-terrain vehicle “Tornado” is an analogue of the popular Ukrainian Sherp, but somewhat larger. Its wheelbase is 2.3 m, and tires reach 1.65 m in diameter. It can carry up to a ton of cargo or seven passengers with luggage, and it can also accommodate three berths in the cabin.
The Ukrainian all-terrain vehicle is equipped with a Japanese Kubota turbodiesel with a volume of 2.4 liters and is capable of developing 45 km/h. Fuel consumption is about 4-5 liters per hour. Since the volume of the tank is 160 liters, the range of the all-terrain vehicle is decent.
Huge (600 mm) ground clearance and low-pressure tires with a centralized inflation system provide excellent cross-country ability. “Tornado” is able to overcome the barrier height of a meter and can swim through the water at a speed of 4-6 km/h. In addition, it is very maneuverable and deploys almost on the spot.
“Tornado” can also tow a trailer, and it is possible to install a bucket in front. The developers believe that the all-terrain vehicle can be used by the State Emergency Service and agricultural enterprises.
