Most often, Ukrainians buy used cars worth up to $6,000. Renault and Volkswagen are in the greatest demand.

Sales of used cars in Ukraine continue to fall, which began after the abolition of free customs clearance in July. In September, only 15.7 thousand used cars passed the first registration in our country. Such statistics are provided by the association “Ukravtoprom”.

Compared to August, there was a decrease of 5%, and compared to September 2021, a decrease of 3.5 times. Inexpensive used cars from Europe worth up to $6,000 are in the greatest demand.

The leader changed in the secondary market in September – Renault Megane (870 sold cars) took the first place. He was able to push the Volkswagen Golf and Passat, who took second and third positions, respectively. It should also be noted that the Nissan Leaf electric car got into the TOP-10 and used cars from the USA returned – Nissan Rogue and Volkswagen Jetta.

In just 9 months of 2022, Ukrainians for the first time registered about 342.5 thousand used cars. This is 4% less than in the same period last year and immediately 12.3 times more than new cars this year.
