Nova Scotia's “police force” will investigate the death of a man during a police intervention in Rivière-Verte on Friday.
A 37-year-old man died Friday in Rivière-Verte during an RCMP intervention in which members of the tactical intervention group were participating.
In the evening, the police were due to execute a search warrant in relation to a firearms complaint.
As the officers proceeded were approaching the scene of the intervention, in a camp, they heard gunshots, and they were fired at from the camp, writes the RCMP in a press release published on Sunday.
After entering the scene, they found the body of this man from Rivière-Verte, police say. No police officers were injured during the intervention.
The New Brunswick RCMP therefore requested an independent investigation by the Incident Response Team. #x27;serious incident (SiRT) from Nova Scotia to shed some light on the facts.
