Bauer says that the Duke of Sussex was a “troubled prince” before meeting the American actress and hung out a lot. In 2016, Harry battled his misfortune of being alone.
“Unlike his father, Harry was seen by many as a good guy who many men and women wanted to protect. But in recent months, Harry has become lonely and abandoned. Watching William's happiness with Kate and two children made him vulnerable,” writes the biographer.

Bauer describes an encounter between the prince and a royal reporter in May 2016, weeks before he meets his future wife.
