“It’s a miracle before Christmas”: the stranger has returned a bag with money and credit cards, which the woman forgot in the subway Author: Alina Dykman MTA subway new York news new York news United States new York
A resident of new York, according to her, learned real early Christmas miracle after she returned the purse that she forgot in the loaded subway train in Manhattan.
The mother of three children, Ashley Patrick on Monday came out of the Q train at Herald Squarewhen she realized that her purse with wallet, cash, credit cards and new winter gloves for my son stayed in the car. But the train doors had already closed, and Ashley was sure that would never see their property.
In desperation, she tweeted, hoping that someone will see the tweet and will be able to help her.
“I forgot my purse in the subway. My husband just lost his job, and I just don’t know how to restore what was in the handbag. If you have time for a Christmas miracle MTA, here it is” – said in a tweet.
According to the woman, she didn’t expect the response to her message will be so fast and big. More than 4,000 retweets and 16,000 likes has helped to spread the message about the missing bag. Late Monday night magic the upcoming holiday worked, and the man who found the bag, returned to her husband Ashley. The bag remained untouched.
Ashley told NBC that he was stunned, because some people on Twitter even offered her to pay the cost of lost possessions, if the bag is not there.
“A huge thank you to the person who returned my bag. It was incredibly kind of him”, the woman added.
It is even more surprising if we take into account the latest data about crime in the subway from the MTA.
Statistics shows that in that time, overall crime in the subway declined by 3%, the number of robberies has increased by more than 11%, and the number of sexual offences by 3%. The number of incidents involving spitting increased by 28%, most of them aimed at staff of MTA.
