John Wick 4: the return of Keanu Reeves' hitman is revealed in pictures

As part of San Diego Comic-Con, Lionsgate unveiled a first official image of Keanu Reeves' hitman in John Wick: Chapter 4.

After John Wick: Parabellum< /strong> from 2019, the killer played by Keanu Reeves was scheduled to return to theaters in May 2021 in a penultimate installment that was ultimately pushed back to March 2023 due to the pandemic and the actor's commitment to Matrix Resurrections. Since then, apart from casting announcements, the film again directed by Chad Stahelski and written by Shay Hatten and Michael Finch (who replaced Derek Kolstad) has delivered little concrete information to the general public. audience. But Lionsgate could take advantage of the current San Diego Comic-Con to unveil a first teaser or a first trailer after sharing a first preview of this fourth installment at CinemaCon last April.

Rumors are that this trailer will be released this weekend, July 23 and 24, but in the meantime, we will have to settle for an official first image. This one presents Keanu Reeves' John Wick in a rather solemn place with a religious connotation, and obviously in the process of meditating.

If the image recalls the Russian and Orthodox aesthetics disseminated in John Wick: Parabellum, it does not give more information on the events that await the future former hitman. Part of the filming having taken place in Europe (Berlin and Paris) and Japan, John Wick should take a few plane trips to defeat La Grande Table who wants his skin.

Along the way, he will come across a old friend played by Donnie Yen and will most likely face Hiroyuki Sanada and/or Scott Adkins, which promises a Royal Rumble of anthology. The rest of the new international cast meanwhile consists of Rina Sawayama, Shamier Anderson, Bill Skarsgård and Clancy Brown (who are hard to see playing anything other than a villain for now).

John Wick should also rely on King Bowery (Laurence Fishburne) with whom he allied against La Grande Table and should also deal with Ian's Winston McShane and his janitor Charon played by Lance Reddick. Both will then return in the spin-off series The Continental as Colin Woodell and Ayomide Adegun. John Wick 4 will arrive in French theaters on March 22, 2023.
