During the closed-door hearing, which took place this Thursday, June 9, the Liberties judge listened with “attention” to the arguments of Cédric Jubillar's lawyers. After more than three hours, the latter took the opportunity to confide in their client.
The life of the Jubillar family changed on the night of December 15 to 16, 2020. On this wintry day, the mother of the family mysteriously disappeared without a trace, in Cagnac-les-Mines, in the Tarn. Despite an ongoing investigation, numerous beatings carried out and search notices, no body, or even any evidence, has been found. However, since June 18, 2021, her husband, Cédric Jubillar, has been imprisoned and placed in solitary confinement at the Toulouse-Seysses remand center. Even though he is considered the main suspect in the disappearance and alleged murder of Delphine Jubillar, the plasterer painter continues to proclaim his innocence.
Since his imprisonment, Cédric Jubillar claims to be the victim of a miscarriage of justice and asks for numerous releases, in vain… This Thursday, June 9, the judge of Liberties, listened to the new pleadings of his lawyers. On this occasion, the lawyers for the main suspect took the opportunity to speak with Midi libre at the end of this hearing. During this interview, Maître Jean-Baptiste Alary confided that the judge had been “very attentive” to their defence.
Freedom for Cédric Jubillar soon?
In addition, Cédric Jubillar’s lawyer confided in his client’s condition. While visiting the father of two in prison this Thursday morning, Maître Jean-Baptiste Alary found that”he seemed a little tired“. He also added: “We have it at arm's length.“ The court decision will be rendered this Monday, June 13th. Will Cédric Jubillar be released after spending a year in prison? Doubt still lingers. If the Liberties judge is in favor of the release of Delphine Jubillar's husband, the latter could still be placed under judicial control, or under electronic surveillance.
