“I am immensely happy to be in the company of these people and to play this character. Every day of filming seems like a blessing to me. And there is also a certain sense of respect, I suppose it has to do with the fact that the franchise is really important to many. On the set of other films, I never felt the way I did on the set of Fantastic Beasts. This is a huge responsibility. Filming of the project has been taking place since September at the Warner studio complex, located near London. The new adventures of Newt Scamander and his loyal friends will unfold in Rio de Janeiro against the backdrop of World War II.
Along with Lowe, Eddie Redmayne, Ezra Miller, Katherine Waterston, Dan Fogler, Alison Sudol, Callum Turner and Jessica William will return to the Potterian offshoot. In the image of Grindelwald, Depp is likely to replace Mads Mikkelsen. The Dane turned out to be the personal choice of director David Yates, and preliminary negotiations are already underway with the performer.
Warner Bros. Studio will release Fantastic Beasts 3 on July 15, 2022.
