The scandalous Kanye West buys social network Parler, popular among conservatives and supporters Donald Trump. This was reported by CNBC.

The amount of the transaction was not disclosed. The rapper's fortune is estimated at about two billion dollars.

“In a world where conservative views are considered controversial, we need to be sure that we have the right to freely express ourselves,” Kanye West said.

Commenting on the agreement on Monday, Parlement Technologies CEO George Farmer said, that it “will change the world and change the way the world thinks about free speech.”

“Kanye West is taking a pioneering step into the free speech media space and never has to fear being removed from social media again. He proves once again that he's one step ahead of traditional media narratives,” said Farmer.Farmer is married to American conservative activist Candace Owens, one of Kanye's social media supporters. He is also the son of Michael Farmer, a British Conservative politician who sits in the upper house of the UK Parliament.

George Farmer was named CEO of Parler last May after a dispute between his first investor, Rebecca Mercer, and former Parler CEO John Matze, led to Matze being fired.

Mercer, heiress to billionaire hedge fund Robert Mercer, is the majority shareholder of Parler.

Kanye West joined Parler on October 17 after being blocked first on Instagram and then on Twitter. Kanye, in a correspondence with P Diddy, said that he was “run by the Jews.” The rapper was blocked after complaints of anti-Semitism.

But Kanye didn’t stop there, and on a podcast he said that George Floyd, whose death during police detention provoked the creation of the Black Lives Matter movement, actually died due to a drug overdose. According to the official version, Floyd suffocated when a policeman pressed his knee on his neck.

The social network Parler is known for positioning itself as “Uncensored Twitter”. It gained popularity among supporters of former US President Donald Trump, who complained that other social networks restrict freedom of speech.

The Parler social network, which was originally launched in 2018, has become a platform where Trump supporters, it is believed that they agreed to storm the Capitol on January 6, 2021 in the Capitol building. This led to many tech companies, including Google and Amazon, blacklisting Parler.

However, in September, Google reinstated the app on its Play Store, stating that the company had changed some of its content moderation policies and law enforcement. Apple restored the app to its App Store platform earlier in April 2021.
