Karabakh on the map today – Latest news and map of Karabakh after Lavrov's visit to Baku and Yerevan

Azerbaijan and Armenia signed a peace agreement, according to which Baku will receive significant territories of Nagorno-Karabakh, which it could not control de jure after the end of the 1994 Karabakh war.

According to the trilateral agreement, 3,170 km2 of territory is transferred to the Armenian side:

  • Martakert region (large part)

  • Askeran region (large part)

  • Shusha region (most)

  • Stepanakert

  • Martuni district (part)

Azerbaijan will receive 4,564 km2 of territory:

  • Keljabar region

  • Aghdam region

  • Lachin region

+ 3,716 km2 was lost during the battles:

  • Talish village, Madagiz

  • Shushi city

  • Hadrut, Fizuli, Jebrail, Zangelan, Kubatli

Note that Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov held separate meetings with his Armenian counterpart Zohrab Mnatsakanyan and Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov. The main topic of the talks was the aggravation of the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh, namely the implementation of the ceasefire agreements and the creation of conditions for the settlement of the conflict.
