  • Aki Lindén told the new schedule for the nurse assessment: it would take effect in stages over the next year, first on April 1, 2023 an increase to 0.65 and 1.12.2023 to 0.7.
  • Sari Sarkomaa (kok) said that Lindén's answer to the intermediate question is not convincing.
  • The coalition, PS and KD have presented a vote of no confidence in the government.

On Wednesday, the government responded to the interim question left by the opposition about the situation of services for the elderly and the crisis in health services. Among the opposition groups, the coalition, the Basic Finns and the Christian Democrats participated in the interim question.

The government's answer in the plenary session was given by the Minister of Basic Services Aki Lindén(sd). After that, the parliament had a heated debate about the state of services for the elderly and health care.

The discussion about health care accelerated when the parliament approved the Patient Safety Act. The law enables nurses to be assigned to work in certain industrial action situations, if patients' lives would otherwise be endangered. Among the largest opposition parties, the coalition voted for the law and Perussuomalaiket against it.
