Keanu Reeves to star in DiCaprio and Scorsese's series about America's first serial killer

Reeves to star in Hulu's “The Devil in the White City”< /p>

57-year-old Keanu Reeves, who has already become the star of numerous films and even the computer game Cyberpunk 2077, decided to make his debut in the series. And he chose for this an ambitious project of Leonardo DiCaprio and Martin Scorsese. The Hollywood Reporter writes.

Keanu Reeves has officially signed on to star in his first major series, The Devil in the White City, seven months after “negotiating” the project.

The actor will play Chicago architect Daniel Burnham, who designed several famous buildings, including the Flatiron Building in Manhattan, the Union Station in Washington, the Selfridges department store in London, and the World's Fair in Chicago in 1893.

That's right. the last grandiose event and the story told in the series will be connected. After all, it was during the World's Fair that the first serial killer in US history, Henry Howard Holmes, began to act.

Dr. Henry Holmes built the hotel, which in Chicago was nicknamed “The Castle”. And he turned it into a real murder maze. Hundreds of tourists came to the city for the Exhibition and many rented rooms from Holmes.

The doctor gassed them in sealed rooms, left them to die in soundproof rooms, burned them in ovens in his own basement, or cleaned the skeletons of flesh and sold them to anatomical theaters.

Holmes himself was caught when he was accused of horse fraud. The police searched the “Castle” only after reports of missing people began to come too often, and the watchman admitted that he was never allowed to enter some premises.

Holmes himself confessed to 27 murders, but the number of his victims may reach 350 according to some reports.

In August 1895, The Castle burned to the ground, Holmes was hanged a year later. He asked to be buried in concrete so that the relatives of the dead would not abuse his body. This request was fulfilled.

These events were described in Eric Larson's 2004 book The Devil in the White City. DiCaprio acquired the film rights back in 2010.

It has not yet been announced who will play Holmes and how he will be related to the character of Keanu Reeves.
